Chesed 24/7

Chesed 24/7 provides kosher meals, hospitality rooms, transportation, and Shabbos accommodations to Jewish families across 34 hospitals in New York and New Jersey. The work happens one family at a time, at one bedside, through stays that were supposed to last a few days and turned into weeks.

The website had to hold that feeling and also do the practical job a nonprofit site has to do, which is give a donor enough reason to believe the operation behind the kindness is real and large.

We led with the feeling and let the scale follow. The homepage opens on what the work is for, comfort at every hour, before any number shows up. By the time a visitor reaches the count of hospitals and rooms and yearly visits, they already know what those numbers pay for.

The testimonial wall lower down brings the page back to where it began, with families writing about the night a stocked room or a hot meal made an impossible week survivable.The find-a-hospital section carries the practical load. A family walking into a hospital they have never been to needs to know whether there is a Chesed room waiting and where to find it.

Each location shows its own hospital's mark, which says something on its own, that these are real institutions letting Chesed 24/7 work inside their walls.
